I’ve gathered from the class recently that you are interested in a group project, and I think we can do that. One of the digital citizenship topics we have yet to discuss is cyberbullying, a very important topic when it comes to learning how to be a good citizen online. Much of this project will be student lead, so get ready to be creative, take initiative and work together, respecting each other’s ideas and input.
Monday – First, we’ll take a look at the articles I used for my Scoop.it. Yes, I was looking ahead at this topic when I scooped cyberbullying topics. We’ll discuss some of these real, in-the-news situations and then move on to a case studies activity to do together.
Tuesday – We’ll finish up the case studies activity, getting a good grip on a variety of different scenarios and how the law might view each. You’ll also receive some materials that might be useful as we begin discussing our cyberbullying project.
Wednesday – I am hopeful that by today, we’ll be able to make a decision on the type of project we’ll do to help educate others on cyberbullying. We’ll begin to make plans in the form of an assignment, deciding on individual tasks, deadlines and even a rubric that will help us all in evaluating the finished product.
Thursday – Friday – We’ll continue working on The Project. Find time for a personal post as well.
